How to Get the Best Lab Diamond Price
Go just under round numbers
0.90ct looks identical to 1.00ct on the hand but costs 12–18% less. Same with 1.45ct vs 1.50ct. Retailers price in tiers — shop just below the threshold.
Choose G or H color
D, E, F color lab diamonds carry a premium that disappears in a ring setting. G and H face up identically white in yellow gold, white gold, or platinum — and cost 15–25% less.
VS2 or SI1 clarity is eye-clean
For lab diamonds, VS2 and SI1 are almost always eye-clean. Paying for VVS or IF means paying for clarity that requires a loupe to see. Use that savings for better cut or more carat.
Never compromise on cut
